CHM 3190 - In Class Journals Activity 1: Home

Directions for this Activity:

1. You will be assigned one article or journal from each column. You may get 2 peer-reviewed articles, 2 non peer-reviewed articles, or 1 of each. Note: If you have any trouble opening or viewing any of the PDF files, please let me know right away so I can give you a work around.

2.Think about the audience, content, and accountability of your two examples. If the article or journal view you have does not give you enough information to determine if the journal is peer-reviewed, feel free to explore the journal website.  It may help you to refer to the Colorado State and Wittenberg University links below about distinguishing characteristics.

3. Make a few notes for yourself about audience, accountability, and content for your two examples and whether it is peer-reviewed or non peer-reviewed.  You will be asked to share if you think the journal is peer-reviewed and why in the chat or using your microphone.  I will try to display the journals for your group as you are doing that, so feel free to point out particular things you noticed about the publication.

4. You will spend approximately 8-10 minutes considering your journal examples, then we will discuss the findings as a class.
