Nursing Fundamentals: Home

A guide to get you started with locating and evaluating appropriate and credible professional health information for NUR 2100 and NUR 2400.

Appropriate Sources for Nursing Classes

Nursing faculty expect you to use information from legitimate health care professionals and organizations.  For this course, your textbook is an appropriate source of information, as are other medical or nursing texts, and articles from professional healthcare journals.  Links to some of these kinds of resources are provided in the other sections on this page.  If you use websites, be aware that not all websites are appropriate

Be sure you can identify the person or group responsible for the site and that entity is a recognized authority in health care.  Well-known health care-related associations often publish reliable health information for healthcare professionals as well as the general public.

The Websites tab on this guide provides more information about how to evaluate the credibility and appropriateness of websites for yourself as well as links to a few reputable sites to get you started.
