JUMP START--Find Online Resources on My Topic

QuickSearch is a search engine that will allow you to search many of the library's databases simultaneously.  It retrieves articles that may come from a variety of disciplines or fields.  The articles often include links to full text (full text or FindIt icons) as well as citations to paper and electronic books available through OhioLINK. (For more information about accessing paper books and ebooks, see the Books and eBooks tabs of this guide).

QuickSearch is similar to Google in that it often retrieves a large number of results, but it consists of vetted library resources as opposed to web sites.  Use the options to the left of your list of results to narrow the retrievals.

Note: If you find that QuickSearch is too broad or you need more discipline-specific search, choose a discipline specific database using our databases by subject list or our subject guides.

Distance Learning Support

ALL students, including distance learners, currently enrolled in a course at Wright State University, are entitled to use University Libraries' resources and services such as:

  • Remote access to databases and other electronic materials owned by Wright State and OhioLINK
  • Borrowing privileges from any OhioLINK institution
  • Research assistance -- including virtual appointments
  • Access to books and articles you need
  • Online library instruction
  • Web-based or streaming video tutorials about information resources

Choose the "Make an Appointment" option on our Ask a Librarian page . Then under "Location", choose "Virtual Meeting" if you want to use phone and screensharing rather than visiting in person.
