Using Google Wisely

Google can be a great place to start your search for free information. Google Scholar helps you find scholarly information that may or may not be free. WSU Libraries pays for you to have access to many of the fee-based articles that you find in Google Scholar.

Whether using Google or Google Scholar, be sure to evaluate what you find.

Experiment with looking for scholarly information on this question, "How is remote sensing being used to explore groundwater contamination?"

Peer review explained

Brief but excellent video from North Carolina State University explains what peer review is and why it is important.

To find peer-reviewed articles in QuickSearch, choose Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals to the left of your results.  Ask a librarian if you need help.
